Time is entered against the job and cost code and approved on the timesheet. Approved hours flow into the pay run, the certified payroll report and the job's labor cost. Union agreements, rate tables, fringe remittances and prevailing wage are part of the module.
Timesheets carry labor hours against the job and cost code, entered once and approved once. Approving the sheet approves every entry on it, and only approved hours reach the pay run, certified payroll and the job's labor cost. Nothing is paid or costed twice, and nothing is paid before the timesheet is approved.
Pay runs read the approved hours, the employee's earning and deduction types and, where they apply, the union rate table for the trade and the prevailing wage rate for the job. Cash rates and each fringe benefit are worked out per agreement, and the run posts wages, employer taxes and withholdings to the ledger by job and cost code.
Flag a job as prevailing wage and certified payroll turns on for that job alone. Each week's report lists every employee who worked it with their trade classification, hours, rates and fringes, drawn from the same approved timesheets and pay run, so the WH-347 agrees with what was paid. Public and private work run in one system.
Employees submit expense reports with line items coded to the job and account. The report is routed for approval like any other document, and once approved it becomes a bill for payment, so the reimbursement is paid like any other bill and the cost lands on the job it belongs to.
The same module, used by the owner, the general contractor and the subcontractor. One example each.
An owner's capital program carries public funding with prevailing wage conditions. The jobs are flagged for prevailing wage, in-house crews' time is approved against them, and the weekly certified payroll report is produced from the same approved hours and rates the pay run used.
Field time comes in by job and cost code and is approved by the superintendent. The pay run applies each local's rate table and fringes where the agreement covers the work, prevailing wage where the job requires it, and posts labor to job cost by cost code.
A specialty sub on a public job approves the week's timesheets, runs payroll with the union rate table and fringes, and produces the certified payroll report from the same run. Fringe remittances to the trust funds are recorded by benefit type under each agreement.
Employees, jobs and cost codes match on both sides, so labor cost from a pay run posts to the ledger your ERP keeps today, by job and cost code. Payroll and time can be taken on its own; the other modules and the ledger move when you choose.

Talk to us →Do approved timesheets feed the pay run automatically?
Yes. Approving a timesheet approves its entries, and the pay run reads only approved hours. The same hours feed certified payroll and the job's labor cost, so what was paid, what was reported and what was costed agree.
Does it handle union payroll?
Yes. Union agreements are kept by trade and effective date, each with a rate table of cash rates and the fringe breakdown. Fringe remittances to the trust funds are recorded by benefit type under each agreement.
How does certified payroll work?
Prevailing wage is turned on per job, with the rates by trade on file for it. A certified payroll report is produced per project per week from the approved timesheets and the pay run, in the WH-347 format.
Can I use time and expenses without running payroll here?
Yes. Timesheets, approvals and expense reports work without pay runs turned on. Approved hours still cost to the job and approved expenses still become bills for payment. Add pay runs when you are ready.
